Why choose the gold post
Gold is the traditional register. It reads as formal on sight, which is why it is the default for galas, award nights, weddings and hotel ballrooms — nobody needs to be told what a gold post and a red rope mean.
It also sits well in warm rooms: candlelight, amber uplighting, wood and brass all pick the gold up rather than fight it. If your event carries any black-tie expectation, gold is the answer that never needs defending. Red or black rope is the usual pairing; white reads especially well for a daytime wedding, and all nine gold-end colours are available on a gold post.
