Velvet ropes
Velvet ropes are 5 ft, velvet, with a carabiner clip at each end, and they rent from $9. You can rent them on their own — if you already have posts, order ropes only and nothing else.
Rope ends are matched to the post — gold ends on gold and black posts, silver ends on polished chrome. Silver ends are stocked in red, navy and black; the gold-end range runs to nine colours.

Toppers
Toppers are sign holders that mount on top of a belt stanchion post. They take 8.5 × 11 in inserts and rent from $15.
A topper puts the instruction exactly where people are already looking — at the head of the line, at eye level, on the post they are queuing against. "Line starts here", "Registration A–M", "Guest check-in this way": the sign travels with the lane, so when you move the stanchions the signage moves with them.
They are also the simplest way to get sponsor or branded panels onto a queue run without bringing in extra furniture, since every topper sits on a post that is already part of the layout.
You supply the printed insert: any 8.5 × 11 in sheet off a normal office printer slides in, so your artwork can change right up to the morning of the event.

Sign stands
A sign stand is a free-standing floor post with a frame on top. It takes the same 8.5 × 11 in inserts and rents from $15.
Because it stands on its own, a sign stand goes where there is no queue to attach to — beside a registration desk, at a lobby junction where guests choose a direction, in a doorway carrying entry instructions, or next to a sponsor activation.
That is the difference from a topper: a topper needs a stanchion to sit on, a sign stand needs nothing. Most events use both — toppers along the lanes that are already stanchioned, sign stands for everywhere else.
Print your own signage on letter-size paper and bring it with you — we rent the frame, and standard 8.5 × 11 in sheets need no trimming or special stock to fit it.
Sandbags
Sandbags are 25 lb ballast weights that rent from $10 per bag. Each one has a nylon strap that buckles around a barrier foot and a handle for carrying it.
A barrier run holds itself down on grass and on rough ground. On smooth concrete, on a polished plaza, on a windy waterfront site or anywhere a run is standing free rather than closing against a building, it is worth pinning the feet — and a strapped bag is how that is done without drilling or staking anything.
They are the same answer for anything else on site that has to stay where you put it: a free-standing sign, a light stand, the leg of a pop-up. The strap buckles rather than ties, so a bag comes off as fast as it goes on when you are striking the site.
The covers are water-resistant, so a run set up in the morning is still ballasted after an evening of rain. How many bags a job takes depends on the surface and how exposed the site is — send the layout and it will be in the quote.

Can I rent velvet ropes without posts?
Yes. Ropes rent on their own from $9 — if you already have posts, order ropes only. They are 5 ft, velvet, and clip on with a carabiner at each end, so they fit standard rope posts.
What size insert fits a topper or a sign stand?
Both take 8.5 × 11 in inserts — standard letter size, portrait or landscape depending on the frame.
Do you supply the printed inserts, or do we?
Clients bring their own printed inserts. Both toppers and sign stands take standard 8.5 × 11 in sheets — letter size — so anything printed at a regular print shop or office printer drops straight into the frame, with no special stock or trimming.
What is the difference between a topper and a sign stand?
A topper mounts on top of a belt stanchion post, so it needs a stanchion to sit on and it travels with the lane. A sign stand is a free-standing floor post with its own frame, so it stands anywhere — a desk, a doorway, a lobby junction. Both take 8.5 × 11 in inserts.
Do I need sandbags with a barrier run?
On grass and rough ground, usually not — the run holds itself down. On smooth concrete, on a plaza, on an exposed or windy site, or wherever a run stands free instead of closing against a building, ballasting the feet is worth it. Send the surface and the layout with your dates and the bags will be counted on the quote rather than guessed at.

How far in advance should I book?
Book ahead for peak dates — award season, spring and summer weddings and December corporate evenings all fill up. For everything else there is no minimum notice: we run same-day delivery when you need it, so send your dates and we will confirm straight away what we can get to you.
